Mamadou Sow


Mamadou Sow is Managing Director of Albatros Energy Mali. He was appointed to this position in January 2021 to guide power plant operations.

Prior to joining Albatros Energy, he held various executive positions across Africa and Europe. Mamadou was the Managing Director of BIA Group in Democratic Republic of Congo, the deputy general manager of Elephant vert. He also served as regional CFO of Atlas Copco.

Mamadou graduated from Paris-Sud University with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing. He also holds an International Executive MBA from the Peter J. Tobin College of Business along with a Certificate in Business Administration from St John’s University in New York. Moreover, he earned an Executive Master of Corporate Finance and Capital Markets with highest honors from ‘’Sciences Po Paris”.

A leader in organizational development, Mr. Sow has completed various training on leadership, international finance, logistics, commercial and sales.

He speaks fluently English, French and Fulani.

Assanatou Cisse

Assanatou Cisse

Technical Director

Assanatou joined Albatros Energy Mali in November 2020 as the technical director. She co-managed national electrical grid improvement projects. As a business-savvy engineer with an international career, she developed a passion for energy and sustainability.

Prior to joining Albatros, Assanatou was Project Manager for MES International where she co-manages the construction of a solar minigrid system in Segou and Sikasso. She has also worked for Apex Clean Energy in Virginia as the clean energy business development engineer and served as electrical engineer for Mali Electric Service.

Mrs Cisse has a good experience with small and large-scale clean energy projects, innovation consulting and data analysis. She holds a Master of Electrical Engineering with a major in power systems from the National Engineering School of Tunis. She also has a Master in Engineering Management from Duke University.

Assanatou has won the awards of the Malian National Scholarship for Engineering Studies. She was also rewarded with the Presidential Excellence Award for scoring the nation’s 2nd highest, for Females in Scientific Baccalaureate.

She speaks fluently English, French, Bambara, and has a good understanding of Spanish.

Chief Financial Officer

Graduated from the 4th top Business School in France with a five-year relevant experience in auditing gathered in the two top auditing firms in the world (Deloitte and PWC) and in some of the world’s major financial places (Luxembourg).

Mamadou has worked for Deloitte & Co and PricewaterhouseCoopers for 5 years in both France and Luxembourg. He has been forging his experience and putting his knowledge of the world of finance to test in the world’s top two auditing firms.

Mamadou graduated from the Reims Management School (France) with honors in 2012, holding an MSc in management with a major in accounting and corporate finance. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas and a certification in Business Strategy from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (China) along with a certificate in Finance, Contracts and Risk Mitigation for Private Power Projects in Africa from the University of Cape Town (South Africa).

He speaks fluently English, French, Bambara and has strong notions in Spanish.

Rakib Abodji

Finance Manager

Rakib Abodji joined Albatros Energy Mali in 2018 as Finance Manager. Passionate about the accounting, finance and audit profession, he previously worked for renowned firms. In 2014, he became a Junior Accountant and financial auditor at such as KPMG in Togo. In 2015, Rakib joined EXCO EGCC International where he worked as a Senior Accounting and Financial Auditor before joining the Albatros Energy tribe.

Rakib is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from the National Institute of Economic and Accounting Techniques in Paris and the Academy of Rennes. He holds a diploma in Management and Accounting (DSGC), and two advanced diplomas in Management and Accounting.

He is fluent in French and English.

Yerorou Barry

Yerorou Barry

HSE Manager

Yerorou joined Albatros Energy Mali in July 2017 after 18 years of experience in the drilling and blasting industry. He has held various HSE positions in exploration projects, surface and underground mining in West Africa. He worked with:

– Drilling services in West Africa (WADS) as HSE agent;
– Boartlongyear as EHS and training coordinator for Mali, Senegal and Guinea;
– Bulk mining explosives (BME) as West Africa HSE manager;
– Major Drilling International as HSE Coordinator for Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire.

Yerorou studied at the Department of Public Administration of the National School of Administration in Bamako (Mali) and holds a leadership role in Drilling EHS and training of trainers.

Awa Toure

Awa Toure

Digital Marketing and Administrative Manager

In February 2021, Awa Touré joined Albatros Energy Mali as Digital Marketing and Administrative Manager.

She has spent most of her career in the world of digital media. She began her career at CGI group Montreal, which she joined in 2018, to perform various functions in CRM and marketing projects.

Joining the United Bank of Africa (UBA)  in 2019, she held the position of Responsible of Social Media and Customer Complaints and was quickly promoted to Responsible of Brand Image and Digital Marketing at the bank before joining the Albatros Energy tribe.

Awa holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration specializing in International Management from the School of Management Sciences of the University of Quebec in Montreal.

She is fluent in French, English, Bambara and has a strong understanding of Spanish.
